MACT compliance has been at the forefront of discussion and boiler talk for well over a year now. The affect of new regulation is becoming more and more apparent in the industry today. We are seeing a variety of reactions from energy providers’ nation-wide. At this stage in the game, most utilities have made a move in regards to becoming MACT compliant, or just simply removing units from service that simply cannot meet regulation requirements. A good discussion would be for folks to respond and discuss their action plan and what they are doing. This style of communication can prove to be valuable to all as hearing different reactions may be of value to other utilities involved, or considering an existing move of their own.
